VOLUNTEERING
Judaism teaches that the elderly should be held in the highest regard and that they are worthy of special treatment. It is the responsibility of the Jewish family to support its parents and other elderly relatives. As a caring Jewish
community, we can meet that responsibility together. If you have an interest in giving the precious gift of time, consider becoming a Maurice Zeffert Home volunteer.
Volunteers of all abilities and talents are most welcome. We invite you to work in our kiosk or interact with residents by reading to them, helping with Bingo, assisting with technology and computers, or other activities. Our volunteer program provides opportunities for any schedule. We are proud of the many volunteers who add quality to the lives of our residents.
Within our Volunteer program, you can choose from a variety of roles including:
- Companionship
- Reading to visually-impaired Residents
- Assisting Diversional Therapy programs
- Assisting Residents at mealtimes
- Shopping with Residents
- Music and entertainment
- Art and craft
- Language and discussion groups
- Visiting Residents and taking them for walks
We offer training in all aspects of volunteering to ensure that you find volunteering at Maurice Zeffert Home a truly rewarding and worthwhile experience.
